European Release Of New Ross Video Products Introduced at NAB’05 IBC Stand No. 9.430

Synergy SD Digital Production Switchers
Synergy SD continues to advance with the launch of new features for 2005 including: new effects, operational features, control capabilities, some hardware upgrades and support for the latest version of OverDrive. Highlights of the new hardware features include: a new more powerful control panel CPU, keyboard support and USB removable storage. Synergy SD adds new Squeeze & Tease WARP effects including: corner pinning, lens flare, obscure, and shards. An automatic white flash effect has been added making it easy to generate this type of effect. The new control interfaces include: robotic cameras, audio mixers, character generators and support for numerous additional manufacturers products.

Synergy SD will also be shown integrated with the Miranda Kaleido-K2 at IBC. This is the result of a joint effort between Ross and Miranda and provides a tight real-time data interface to display vital switcher and source information on the Kaleido-K2 virtual monitor wall.

Synergy MD - SD and HD Production Switchers
IBC 2004 saw Ross introduce the complete range of Synergy MD/X Multi-Definition Production Switchers in prototype form. This year Ross is showing the full production models. Synergy MD/X is now shipping and used daily in live productions.

OverDrive Production Control System
Ross Video will be releasing v3.0 of the OverDrive Production Control System including applications for News, Sports, Faith-based and Live Event productions. Building on the successful launch of OverDrive at NAB 2004, v3.0 increases the power and flexibility of OverDrive by adding control for Chyron CGs, text feedback from newsroom systems and a safety crossover switch for redundant server applications.

In addition, enhanced audio and video server control has been added to the DirectControl display. New support for MOS 2.8 takes advantage of additional features in OverDrive integration with newsroom systems.

Kondor & NK Ross Routing Systems by Codan
The Ross family of routing systems will see many new additions to the NK series of compact routers. Complementing the NK 16 x 16 product line is the 16 x 4 series available in serial digital, analog audio and video, and AES audio formats. The NK 16 x 4 series is shipping now. A multi-definition model (MD) for the NK 16 x 16 and 32 x 32 will be introduced at the show. The MD is capable of working with SMPTE 259M-C standard-definition and 292M high-definition signals. Of particular interest is the new NK 64 x 64 series of routing systems. Available in serial digital, analog audio and video, and AES audio formats, this highly compact router offers a very cost-effective system for mid-sized routing requirements.

RossGear MD – Multi-Definition Terminal Equipment
RossGear MD is a new lineup of Multi-Definition modules for distribution, monitoring, format conversion, frame synchronization, audio embedding and processing.

Ross Video will be introducing the new RossGear MD product line at this year's IBC show. Launched at NAB and now shipping, RossGear MD is designed to complement the popular Synergy MD line of switchers, easing the transition between standard and high definition environments.

The RossGear MD lineup includes a wide range of modules that seamlessly handle all popular standard definition SDI and high definition HD-SDI signals. Along with a new 2RU modular MD frame, Ross is demonstrating modules designed for audio/video distribution, conversion, synchronization, multiplexing and demultiplexing. Of special interest is the new UDC-8225 Cross Converter module, which converts between any SD and HD formats with advanced video de-interlacing, noise reduction, and the highest broadcast quality scaling engine.

GearLite Compact Terminal Equipment
Also new at Ross is a rack-mounted redundant power supply for their GearLite modules. For installations where several GearLite modules are used, Ross offers the 2RU GRF-9000 rack-mount frame for up to nine GearLite modules. For enhanced 24/7 reliability and power efficiency, the new GRP-9000 can be added, offering hot-swappable redundant power to all nine GearLite modules.
